Hi! I'm Michelle Hutchinson
Welcome to my website! I'm a Canadian abstract floral artist finding inspiration from the rural surroundings outside my studio. If you like a vibrant palette using nature motifs—you've come to right site. My goal is to infuse vitality, energy, and spontaneity into each artwork so that it resonates with your heart and soul, giving new life to your home or workplace.
I am a self-taught artist who learned much from painting with my family—Rene O'Connor and Danielle O'Connor Akiyama.
"My art reflects my combined love of mystery and beauty—the perfect combo of quirky meets joy!" explains Michelle.
Now retired from a career in communications, I spend a lot of time experimenting with paint, mediums, and mixed media in my studio. Thanks for stopping by my site!

Rising Song
The vibrant red blooms of the Spring season instantly uplift our spirits and beckon us to celebrate with song. As Winter's weight fades away, we are encouraged to embrace transformation. Against a textured backdrop of swirls and circles, the soft clouds evoke a dream-like feeling.
This small painting easily fits into a variety of places bringing joy to a room with its vibrant palette.

Loving Layers!
Original Art
Each painting is an "original" work of art made with a variety of mixed media materials including fluid and heavy body acrylics, graphite sticks, inks, crayons, glitter, collage, pens, and whatever else excites me!
My art is inspired by life events and the beauty and ruggedness of nature I see all around me—the lake, trees, flowers, birds, and mostly by the wind that makes everything dance!
I love to try out different colour combinations, textures, and processes. And, I'm a big fan of multiple layers of both opaque and transparent paint to add depth and mystery!
